Aquatic biomass biorefinery

29 March 2016 by Margherita Leoni

In this project aqueous waste streams are upgraded and valorised through the production of algae and the closing of cycles. For algae cultivation, amongst other things, a LCA-calculation was made to determine for which steps in the process, sustainability improvements have the largest effect. In 2015, six tanks were built for specific cultivation of aquatic plants on waste streams and a start was made with the valuing of components of aquatic plants.
